UCD Student Blair Huang Wins First Prize in Greater Sacramento Area Speech Contest

The Annual Japanese Speech Contest in Greater Sacramento was held in Sacramento on April 28, 2018, and Blair Huang, a double major in history and Japanese, won first prize in the College Students division. A total of 12 students from four universities competed, and Blair was the clear favorite.

 

In his speech titled "Good-bye to My Cowardly Self," he talked about his struggles with English when he came to the U.S. and his challenges in overcoming it. His victory was unanimous among the judges, and his lively and heartfelt speech touched the audience. Blair did a superb job!  Congratulations to Blair!
