I got this job right after college. I have quite a lot of international students who came from China, learning the Chinese political and historical background allows me to open up different conversational topics with my Chinese student as ice breakers. I would like to thank Professor Xiaomei Chen, who is not only a professor but also a mentor for me. She provided endless support to me in establishing and running the Chinese Drama Club. Under Professor Chen's guidance, the public speaking and problem-solving skills that I build from the process allow me to thrive in my current role. And she was the reference for me in my job search. And I am thankful to be acknowledged graduated with the Chinese Department Citation, which makes my professional profile stand out among the others.
